Frequently Asked Questions
Is virtual therapy effective?
Very much so! A 2020 study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders revealed evidence of little difference between teletherapy and face-to-face therapy in terms of therapeutic alliance, disclosure, and treatment outcomes.
What should I expect in my first session?
Your first two sessions with your therapist or coach are “intake“ sessions where your therapist will work to better understand your needs from therapy, and how they can best support you.
How to get started?
You can either reach out to a prospective therapist/coach directly via email or phone if you would like discuss fit, or take a look at their schedule using the client login button above.
Now that I have started, how do I know this is the right therapist for me?
Do you feel comfortable with your therapist? Can you be honest and open with your therapist? Is your therapist responsive to your concerns and questions? Do you feel confident in their understanding of your concern? Are you confident in their ability to help you with your concern? Having a good fit makes a significant difference in making progress in counseling. It is recommended that you give your therapist 2-3 visits to find a connection, unless you are able to tell right away.
How long will I need therapy?
The duration of therapy differs for each individual. Some clients find short-term therapy (8–12 sessions) effective for addressing specific concerns, while others benefit from longer-term support aimed at continued personal growth. Together, we’ll routinely assess your progress and tailor the approach as needed.
