Our Mission

At Felt Sense, our mission is to facilitate deep, lasting, healing through services where your ability to grow is encouraged rather than undermined. What is a Felt Sense?

Eugene Gendlin gave the name "felt sense" to the unclear, pre-verbal sense of "something"—the inner knowledge or awareness that has not been consciously thought or verbalized—as that "something" is experienced in the body. It is not the same as an emotion. This bodily felt "something" may be an awareness of a situation or an old hurt, or of something that is "coming"—perhaps an idea or insight.

Our Approach

We work from a holistic model of wellness to address issues including mood, culture, sexuality, spirituality, relationships, anxiety, depression, transitions, grief/loss, and trauma/abuse.

  • Interdisciplinary- We thoughtfully integrate psychodynamic insight with evidence-based cognitive-behavioral techniques to create a nuanced and effective therapeutic experience.
  • Trauma-Informed- With deep expertise in both acute and complex trauma, we offer a safe, attuned, and skilled presence to support your healing process.
  • Spiritually Inclusive- Whether rooted in a particular faith or exploring your beliefs, we honor your spiritual identity and hold space for meaningful reflection and growth.
  • Embodied- We help you reconnect with your most powerful resource—your body—guiding you toward greater regulation, awareness, and congruence.

We are committed to providing anti-racist and anti-discriminatory services. Regardless of age, race, culture, sexual orientation, gender, and body-size we believe that you should experience a non-judgmental and transformitve space.
